Expert Dentists for Teeth Extractions Near Casula

Get Rid of Bad Teeth Today

If you have a tooth that is too decayed to repair, or if the tooth is badly damaged, then you will need to have that tooth extracted. If a tooth is fractured below the gum line, it may not be visible and therefore may not be treated. Teeth extraction may be necessary to remove the damaged tooth.

At some point in a person’s life, there will be a need to have one or more teeth extracted. There are many reasons why a tooth might need to be removed and understanding why you need an extraction can help you better understand the process and how long it should take to heal.

If you are in need of teeth extraction in Casula, then our dentists will make sure that you are as comfortable as possible throughout the entire process. We will numb the area around the tooth with a local anaesthetic so that you won’t feel any pain during the procedure. In some cases where multiple teeth are being extracted at once or if there is an infection present, our dentists may prescribe you an antibiotic or stronger pain medication.

If only one tooth needs to be removed, it is called a simple extraction. For this procedure, the dentist will loosen the tooth with an instrument called an elevator. Then they will use forceps to remove the tooth. If multiple teeth need to be removed, then it is called a surgical extraction. This procedure is more invasive and usually requires anaesthesia or sedation. During this procedure, the dentist will cut into your gums in order to extract the teeth.

When is a tooth extraction needed?

Teeth can be extracted for many different reasons. The most common type of removal is when a baby tooth is blocking the entry of the permanent tooth. Another common reason is when people have impacted wisdom teeth that are causing pain or crowding problems with the other teeth.

Sometimes, teeth extraction is needed because they are heavily damaged from decay or fractures. Other times, people have infections within their teeth and gums, and the tooth needs to be removed because it won’t heal properly.

If you have gum disease, your dentist may recommend extractions for teeth that are beyond repair or which would cost too much to save.

At Dentists & Dentures, we provide teeth extraction and dentures, and we do it with the utmost professionalism and care. Our goal is to help you maintain a healthy mouth, and that means eliminating any disease. In some instances, removing a tooth may be the only option for restoring your oral health.

We understand that having teeth pulled can be an intimidating experience, so our dental team does everything possible to make it as comfortable as possible for you. We offer several forms of sedation dentistry and can even remove multiple teeth in a single visit. If you are missing teeth and are interested in learning more about dental implants or dentures, we can discuss your options with you as well.

Our Teeth Extraction Process

Tooth extraction is a relatively straightforward process that begins with your dentist administering an anaesthetic to numb the area where your tooth will be removed. Once you are numb, your dentist will carefully loosen your tooth and remove it. If the tooth needs to be broken apart before removal, we may need to use special instruments to accomplish this task.

Dentures

When all of the teeth are missing, complete dentures are used whereas partial dentures are preferred when some natural teeth remain.

Removable partial dentures usually consist of replacement teeth attached to pink or gum-colored plastic bases, which are connected by a metal framework that holds the denture in place in the mouth.

Fixed partial dentures (crown and bridge) are made from crowns that are fitted on the remaining teeth. These teeth serve as anchors for the new artificial teeth. A fixed bridge is generally used when there are fewer teeth to replace, and no grinding down of other healthy teeth is necessary.
